Personal assistant services provide individuals with disabilities help in their home or communities, based on their needs, to maintain or increase independence.

We can provide assistance with any activity of daily living.


For help with physical assistance we can assist in:

  • Bathing
  • Toileting
  • Transfer and ambulation
  • Skin care
  • Grooming
  • Dressing
  • Extension of therapies and exercise
  • Care of adaptive equipment
  • Meal preparation
  • Feeding
  • Incidental household cleaning and laundry

For help with independent living skills we can assist in:

  • Shopping
  • Banking
  • Budgeting
  • Using public transportation
  • Social interaction
  • Recreation and leisure activities

This includes accompaniment, coaching and minor problem solving necessary to achieve increased independence, productivity and inclusion in the community.


Personal Assistant services may also include general supervision and protective oversight.

Services are tailored to meet the individual’s needs. ACT is happy to work with consumers and families to develop services that best suit the consumer and meet the needs of the individual.
