DSP Spotlight – Marshay Baker

We’re celebrating DSP Week by spotlighting some of our compassionate and hard-working Direct Support Professionals and Career Specialists. They’re the heart of our industry. Because of their dedication, we’re able to help hundreds of individuals with disabilities live fulfilling lives in central Missouri.

Marshay BakerToday we talked with Marshay Baker. She’s a DSP for our Community Living program.

How long have you worked for ACT?

I have worked for ACT coming up on a year.

What’s your favorite memory while working at ACT?

My favorite memory was when one of the individuals walked up to me and told me they were glad I was here working with them. Made my day!

What brought you to this line of work?

I have always wanted to help others be the best they can be. Makes you feel good.

Why do you like working with ACT?

The individuals are the best part of the job when you see how the little things count so much to them.

If you had a superhero name what would it be?

My superhero name would be Super Shay.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be, and why?

My superpower would be to mind read so I could know exactly what to do to make the next person’s day better.

Thank you, Marshay. That would be a handy superpower! Thank you for being a part of our team.
