Although ACT may be known widely for employment services, our consumers with disabilities also benefit from our programs that aren’t work-related. Many participate in our Community Integration program, a non-work program which, in the weeks leading up to the end of year Holidays, seemed almost magical.
Smiles were abundant as our consumers and training specialists together anticipated the holidays by making and decorating gingerbread houses, singing carols in our Community Living building, creating crafts, and making holiday greeting cards for service men and women.
Consumers also baked cookies in the morning and delivered them to ACT houses in the afternoon.
Everyone at ACT is passionate about helping individuals with disabilities experience everything life has to offer–including the special joys of community involvement, creativity, and interactions with family and friends during the holidays. The rewards, as consumers meet their goals through Community Integration, are abundant.
