About ACT

What is ACT?

ACT provides an array of programs and services throughout Mid-Missouri to about 400 persons with disabilities annually, in the areas of employment, residential services, and day programs. ACT was founded in 1975 and has evolved over the years as an established, nationally-accredited (by CARF) organization effectively meeting the needs of persons with disabilities and their families.


ACT continues to look for more ways to meet the needs of mid-Missouri. Today’s areas of service include:

ACT Career Services
Individuals benefit from services that will assist them with achieving their career goals.

Person Centered Strategies Consultation
Person Centered Strategies Consultants assist individuals and families to improve positive interactions and relationships.

Community Living Program
Living “on your own” is now a choice for many as a result of ACT’s living and personal care services.

Day Program
ACT consumers take part in numerous activities throughout the week in this creative and intensely personal program.

Personal Assistance
Support to individuals to help maintain or gain independence in their current living environments.
